"the Rock"
Utila or The Rock as people call it is a small island in the Caribbean Sea, part of Honduras, known for its stunning natural beauty and vibrant marine life. The Island surrounded by the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second-largest coral reef system the world, providing a rich habitat for diverse species.
On the flats it's very usual to encounter Permit, Bonefish, Barracuda, Jacks, Tarpon, Snappers, Triggerfish, Snook and some other species. Most of the flats are coverd in turtle grass mixed with sand holes or coral parts. Great enviroment for crabs and shrimps that many of these species feed on.
As the Island is surrounded more or less by the reefs it can make the flats fairly calm even on the rough days. You can also fish the surf for Jacks and snappers.
